Rantz
artist
The Nitty Gritty: Born and raised in a small rural town in Oregon, my mom would tell you that I came out of the womb with a pencil and paper in hand. Not really, of course, but I’ve been doodling most of my life. Just recently, as of about 5 years ago, did I start to share my art, and grow as an artist, thanks to the power of the internet. I first started posting some artwork on Digital Webbing (DW), then shortly after, created a Deviantart Account. After some time of posting on DW, I met up with Nic Carcieri, after he pitched me his idea for a comic book series. Actually, he wanted me to do a couple additional pages to what he already had, but the styles between the previous artist and myself were so different, that I offered to start from the beginning anew. Shortly there after, we created an online studio, called Portal Productions….and we’ve been best friends ever since.
When asked of how I “broke” into the industry, I insist it’s due to dumb luck, or being at the right place at the right time. At Emerald City in 2006 I did a sketch for an artist friend, who in turn gave it to Darren Davis of Bluewater productions, who at the time, was also a part of the blooming Alias Comics. Darren approached me, to thank me for the sketch, and started thumbing through my portfolio. He asked if I wasn’t working on anything, would I be interested in a Mini Series…..the rest, shall we say, is history
My work can be seen currently on the covers of the Bluewater Comics titles, Power of the Valkyrie, Legend of Isis and Judo Girl.

Later this year, look for my debut as the artist for Jason and the Argo-
nauts and the creator owned series Ninth Order, both also from Bluewater Comics.
